FIANCE VISA PROCESS EXPLAINED:

First, the fiance visa petition is submitted in the U.S. to the appropriate USCIS (formerly INS) Service Center. Typically, approval here takes around 30-120 days. The USCIS will make sure that you qualify for a fiance visa and that all your paperwork is in order. Once approved by the USCIS, the petition is sent to the National Visa Center (NVC) for an FBI check on both you and your fiancee. The NVC then sends it to your fiancee's Embassy. They will then contact her/him directly. She/he will need to submit forms with supporting documentation (copies of some of forms/documents you already submitted in the US, police report making sure she/he does not have a serious criminal record). Once the Embassy receives, they will contact fiance to have her/him set up a medical exam and interview date. Typically, the fiance visa is issued the day of interview or shortly thereafter via mail. Once in the U.S., you both have 90 days to marry.
